Accreditation Product Development
ACC Accreditation Services

Ruth Cantu photo Ms. Cantu has been with ACC Accreditation Services for 10 years, working in multiple roles as an Accreditation Review Specialist and most recently overseeing Programs and Projects Development and Maintenance.

Ms. Cantu has over 26 years of experience in nursing. Her previous role as a Clinical Specialist providing support for a Laboratory Diagnostics company gave Ruth insights into how Emergency Departments and Chest Pain Centers worked with Laboratories. During this time, Ruth worked collaboratively with the representatives of these departments to educate and facilitate process improvement and workflow development. This was the inception of taking that knowledge and further expanding into Accreditation Services.
Ms. Cantu serves as a key contact and facilitator to all major laboratory diagnostics vendors and industry contacts. She has also served as a member of the writing committee for the current CPC Accreditation tools and assisted with the updates to the NCDR Chest Pain-MI Registry v3.0. To assist in educating staff and customers, Ms. Cantu continues to monitor the latest laboratory practice guidelines, diagnostic regulatory requirements and clinical guidelines to stay current with the advances in Acute Coronary Syndromes diagnostics.
