She attended medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA, and performed her residency and fellowship at Columbia University / St. Luke's Roosevelt in New York, NY. She also holds a masters of public health in health systems management from the Tulane School of Public Health in Tropical Medicine in New Orleans.
